AAA has expanded the “I Got Caught” program to include rewards for teenage drivers and passengers who wear their seat belts. Partnering again with the Minnesota Sheriffs Association and the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association, this program seeks to create a positive reinforcement campaign to encourage and reward seat belt use among Minnesota’s teenagers.
Law enforcement agencies can work in conjunction with high schools that choose to “catch” teens using seat belts upon arrival to or departure from school facilities and/or school events. These rewards are not to be used as part of any traffic stop.
Teens “caught” wearing their seat belt are rewarded with a free music download card, free food coupon from Wendy’s restaurants or a free mystery ticket to Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America. Last year, more than 85 law enforcement agencies chose to participate and we hope to have many more for prom and graduation season.
AAA is happy to launch the second consecutive year of “I Got Caught” teens/seat belts positive reinforcement campaign. Once again we have free music download cards (with a new vendor and easier process than last year), Wendy’s free food coupons and Nickelodeon Universe free ride tickets. These rewards are intended to be used with seat belt campaigns conducted by law enforcement in conjunction with high school events such as seat belt challenges (not to be used in traffic stops).
